MOLECULAR MIMICRY OF BRUCELLA MELITENSIS EPITOPES IN MOUSE AND HUMAN ARTHRITIS
The Brucella-derived cytotoxic T lymphocyte (CTL) epitope RYCINSASL drives the host response to infection. This epitope is derived from the bacterial methionine sulfoxide reductase B3 (MSRB3) protein. Human MSRB3 protein carries a sequence that is 100% identical to the Brucella epitope.
The purpose of this study: to investigate the relationship between a specific Brucella-derived epitope and the development of SpA in the patient population that experienced Brucella infections.
Peptide-binding assays using Biacore system and human cell line expressing HLA-B*2705 allele using flow cytometry.
